Theory of Pin-tube Technology
One of the most effective methods of improving heat transfer coefficient is to strengthen convective heat transfer of heat exchange surface. Although the general method of strengthen heat exchange surface can improve heat transfer coefficient in some degree, the level is limited. Fortified outer surface are more likely to be corroded and ash accumulated, which causes shorter service life and lower heat transfer effects. However, Pin-tube technology overcomes these weaknesses. Heat transfer area of pin-tube type with special welding procedure in unit length is seven times than that of ordinary tubes. As a result, even the heat transfer coefficient of pin-tube type is as same as the ordinary ones; the heat absorption is seven times than that of ordinary tubes. While the heat medium transversally flows through needle, symmetric steady swirl and recirculation zone have been formed in the north of the column of the needle. The thermal boundary constantly being re-formed and destroyed, the entire boundary layer of heat transfer surface becomes thinner, so that the thermal resistance is reduced and the heat transfer coefficient is greatly improved. Meanwhile, a strong reflux and swirl make surface have strong capacity of anti-ash, self- scale removal and self-descaling.
Structure feature of heat exchanger with pin-tube type
I. Compact structure
Heat exchange area of pin-tube type in unit length is seven times than that of the ordinary tubes. The pin-tubes are connected by pushed elbow with small radius. Compared with equipment with ordinary tubes, heat exchanger with pin-tube type in same heat exchange area is several times smaller in volume and area as well as weight. Therefore, it provides a large space for clients in installation and lifting.
II. Easy maintenance
One pin-tube is made of a whole seamless steel tube and connected with each other by elbow. Thus, it can suffer high pressure and there is rare quality issue occurred generally. Suppose some pin-tubes occurred to leak, it is also very easy to replace with new one.
III. Small thermal stress in pressure parts
Assembly stress will not happen since there is no forced assembly when fitting. Meanwhile, there is only one end of each set of pins tube that welds steel structure, while another end is free. As a result, there is no thermal stress.

V. Continuous running with efficiency
According to its heat transfer mechanism and structural characteristics, it is not difficult to know that the pin tube technology has strong anti-scaling, anti-ashing and self-descaling and ashing capabilities. Therefore, its equipment can maintain efficient operation for a long time, which is unmatched by ordinary light pipe heat exchange equipment.
